Summerhill is a neighborhood that has hosted big venues such as the 1996 Olympics and the Turner Braves Stadium (and more recently the new Georgia State University Sports complex). It is ideally located minutes to downtown and access to all major highways. Even with the big named events near Summerhill, it has struggled to become a thriving neighborhood in more recent years. However, big plans are in the works to turn this into a bustling neighborhood once again with the transformation of Turner Stadium into Georgia State University’s sports complex & commercial development of surrounding streetscapes. Homes in the area are a mix of old bungalows to more newer craftsman style homes. Prices remain lower (compared to other intown areas) so it could be a neighborhood to invest in if re-development of Summerhill remains a reality. New construction craftsman are now selling in the mid $500’s but older, small bungalows can average between $250-$350K.
