Poncey-Highland is a relatively small, walkable neighborhood and centrally located between several hot communities (Virginia-Highland to the north and Inman Park to the south). Poncey-Highland real estate is mainly made up of older cottage and bungalow style homes. However, there is a mixture of newer craftsman style homes included as well. Poncey-Highland backs up to Freedom Parkway trail, a nice walking/jogging path that also connects into the Atlanta Eastside Beltline. Residents can enjoy many walkable attractions including Manuel’s Tavern (one of Atlanta’s oldest taverns), Sweet Auburn BBQ, Publix, and a local park/playground located at the intersection of Freedom Parkway and North Avenue. One other attraction worth noting is the Carter Center which also serves as the location every Saturday morning for a farmer’s market. Additionally, the Poncey-Highland neighborhood is zoned to the highly ranked Springdale Park Elementary school. Poncey-Highland real estate prices can vary depending on the size and condition of the home.
