Old Fourth Ward (commonly referred to as O4W) is a central Intown location that is rich in history. The most notable reference is the site of the Martin Luther King, Jr historic site which surrounds his childhood home on Auburn Ave and the church he pastored at (Ebenezer Baptist Church). Once having a reputation of crime and other bad activity, the Old Fourth Ward real estate market has experienced a drastic turnaround and is now an up-and-coming neighborhood. It’s close proximity to downtown, Midtown, Virginia Highland, Inman Park, and the high walkability of this area have attracted more young professionals and businesses to relocate into the neighborhood. The regentrification of the O4W is in big thanks to the Beltline and the Ponce City Market projects. Apartments, condos, lofts, and new home construction is up in this area. While once an affordable location, the O4W’s real estate values have continually spiked year over year as the popularity for living in walkable areas continues.
