Edgewood

If you are looking for an affordable Intown Atlanta home, one area to consider is the Edgewood real estate market.  Wedged in between Dekalb Ave and Memorial Dr, is the small neighborhood of Edgewood.  Granted, this area is a bit rough around the edges with several abandoned and/or unkept properties, but there are ever-growing glimpses of a bright future for this neighborhood.   Builders have been quietly renovating and building new homes here while the value is on the cheaper end.  There is a mixture of bungalow homes and new craftsman style homes here.   Edgewood real estate prices can range from the mid $200’s for a bungalow up to $500K for a newly-built home.  The location of Edgewood is also attractive as it has easy access to I-20, is located right next to the popular Edgewood Shopping District for your daily groceries, Target shopping, etc, and it is also within walking distance to the MARTA.  Although this area has been slower to transition compared to it’s Kirkwood and Reynoldstown neighbors, it’s well on its way.  In fact, in 2016 home prices rose the highest in the Edgewood neighborhood.
